DESCRIPTIVE TEXT OF THE INTERVIEW
Ingles

In the interview for the history of mathematics course the most important Egyptian   contributions of civilization, in addition to emphasize the mathematical philosopher Pythagoras is reported.

This is done with a bookkeeper published which will make a brief presentation, then it goes on to ask what was the most significant contribution of the Egyptians for the development of mathematics? She answered quite sure that among the most significant contributions of this civilization are using the decimal system, calculating surfaces triangles, trapezoids and squares; the resolution of algebraic equations and the  knowledge about  PI number.

In the second instance the interviewee gives his personal opinion about  the contribution that this civilization has left in his life; Expressing that have made the calendar of 365 days and twelve months based on the movement of the sun, it is not in important for her but for the whole society contribution.

The interview continues with a brief biographical description of Pythagoras, in which the most important aspects of this character, such as it was a philosopher, mathematician Greek, considered the first pure mathematician are highlighted; Among their findings are the Pythagorean theorem, the incommensurability of the side and the diagonal of the square.

I also express that He lived between 538 and 500 BC, he was believed in equality for that reason had women among his followers and slaves. Again the interviewee gives his personal opinion on the most significant contribution of Pythagoras for mathematics, for which she highlights the Pythagorean theorem and the division of natural numbers in even and odd.

Finally we thank the interviewee for their collaboration in the training process of students.

ENTREVISTA

TRADUCTION

Review

The book Ian Stewart's mathematics in the last 10,000 years, in his first chapter titled chips, beads and tablets, tells the birth of numbers in which it is verified by historical data as these arise because of the human being's need to represent his goods; This is why in the first instance a clay chips that represent the basic products originate, they symbolize the legal proof of their property. In addition it becomes evident the evolution of the same when writing scripts on the jar in which these cards were kept giving beginning to the origin of the own writing when replacing with symbols the words; The contributions of the Babylonians was very significant in the development of mathematics since by means of tablets they made the mathematical and astronomical record that allow to give predictions of eclipses or movements of the planets; In addition to this the Egyptian civilization had a confusing sexagesimal system, for that reason this knowledge was ignored by previous cultures; It is concluded that mathematics makes parts of the daily life of the human being and these are together with the culture evolve constantly, this is evident in the technology, science, commerce that although they do not seem to work with mathematical algorithms.

According to the book by Ian Stewart in his sixth chapter he discusses the curves and coordinates where he begins by making a tour with characters who contributed to this subject, as Pierre Fermat emphasizes the theorem of Pythagoras and irrational numbers and describes the Coordinates, but also studies other areas such as probability, geometry and applications of optics, with more experience introduced oblique axes in the plane, then Archimedes with the use of analogies to find the volume of a sphere, after so many studies two Mathematicians discovered a great connection between geometry and algebra. Discard presents other possibilities as the two-dimensional image doing study to the plane where it locates the point that is called origin and draws a line by the puny each coordinate yox takes negative or positive values, explaining the geometry of coordinates that are used in the plane of easy way , But also in the spheres taking into account the length and the latitude and therefore we can apply it in any round body taking into account the rules to find it. The geometry was made to be able to represent the flat geometry with reference to two perpendicular lines that are cut in origin, devising so-called Cartesian coordinates.

These mathematicians made significant contributions to geometry and to algebra at one time because they are related in many ways

According to the book by Ian Stewart in his seventh chapter, he deals with patterns in numbers where researchers delighted in geometry, did not lose interest in numbers and asked deeper questions, found answers from some and others remain unanswered until today , That's why they started with number theory to find the answer to some of their questions. To contribute were based on the works of Euclid, where it is complete, not only with demonstrations but also with affirmations for geometry, this discipline was developed for a new area of mathematics by diaphanous Greek. In the eighteenth century Fermat gave it a great boost and was developed by Leonhard Euler, Joseph - Louis Lagrange and Carl Friedrich Gauss as a deep and extensive branch of mathematics, but the arrival of the digital computer changed everything. Computers work with electronic representations of natural numbers and the problems and opportunities posed by computers frequently lead to number theory. From here the theory has had impacts and transformations because many numbers have been decomposed into smaller pieces and the Larger parts appear when multiplying the pieces; Example 2 x 5 = 10 and some numbers can not be expressed as product this happens to prime numbers and numbers that can be expressed as products of two smaller numbers are said to be composed. The study of number theory was based on Euclid's vii book and Proposition 20 of the book and Diophan with algebraic notation, but he was influenced in number theory and studied general, rather than numerical, questions and found all Solutions in whole numbers and finally Fermat made many important discoveries. One of its theorems tells us when a given integer n is a sum of perfect squares. The theory of numbers is very important to arrive at a positive conjecture.
